PRIVACY POLICY

How Creator University Philippines collects, uses, stores and protects personal data across the CRU platform.

1. Who we are

Creator University Philippines ("CRU", "we", "us") operates the website at www.creatoruniversity.com.ph — a Bigo Live hosting agency and creator community platform. CRU is the data controller for the personal data described in this policy. You can reach our data protection contact at support@creatoruniversity.com.ph.

2. Data we collect

2.1 Account data

  • Username and password (stored only as a salted password hash).
  • Display name / alias, Bigo ID, profile bio, and profile photos you upload.
  • Optional contact details you choose to add: email address and phone number (used for account recovery and application review).

2.2 Application data

When you apply as a host or supporter we collect the application details you submit (role, Bigo ID, referrer's Bigo ID, bio). Applications are reviewed by our admin team and retained with their approval status.

2.3 Community activity data

  • Points and commendations given and received, medals, badges and program tier.
  • Pinned hosts, group memberships, community posts and chat messages within your groups.
  • Support tickets you file, including anonymous tickets.
  • Store orders (products, sizes, delivery address) and Bigo Live diamond requests you initiate.

2.4 Technical and security data

  • Session cookie (cru.sid) that keeps you signed in; login activity timestamps (last login, last active, login count).
  • Standard server logs (IP address, user agent, request path) used for security and abuse prevention.
  • Anti-abuse signals used to detect duplicate accounts (e.g. shared email, phone or Bigo ID).

3. Legal bases for processing (GDPR)

We process personal data on the following bases: performance of a contract (providing your account, store orders and community features you request), legitimate interests (security, fraud and duplicate-account prevention, service improvement), consent (optional fields, marketing communications where applicable — withdrawable at any time), and legal obligations (tax, accounting and lawful requests from authorities).

4. How we use your data

  • To operate your account, authenticate you, and keep you signed in.
  • To review applications, assign roles, and administer the creator programs.
  • To run community features: points, commendations, battles, events, groups and chat.
  • To fulfil store orders and diamond top-ups you request, including sharing delivery data with our print/payment providers.
  • To keep the platform safe: duplicate-account detection, unusual-activity dashboards, and audit logs of admin actions.
  • To communicate with you about your account, applications, tickets and orders.

5. Sharing and processors

We never sell personal data. We share data only with the service providers that make the platform work (hosting, payment processing, print-on-demand fulfilment, email delivery), under data-processing agreements, and with BIGO Live strictly to the extent needed to register and support hosts on the platform. Public profiles show only what you (or the platform's public pages) expose: display name, Bigo ID, badges, battles and content you have marked public.

6. Cookies

We use a single strictly-necessary session cookie (cru.sid) and your browser's session storage for UI preferences. We do not use third-party advertising or tracking cookies on this site.

7. Retention

Account data is kept while your account is active. Support tickets are retained for 90 days and avatar audit logs for 180 days, after which they are purged. Application records are kept for the life of the account for audit and anti-abuse purposes. When you delete your account, personal data is removed or anonymised within 30 days, except where a longer retention period is required by law.

8. Your rights

Under the GDPR and applicable Philippine data protection law (RA 10173), you have the right to:

  • Access the personal data we hold about you, and receive a copy in a portable format.
  • Rectify inaccurate or incomplete data.
  • Erase your data ("right to be forgotten"), subject to legal retention requirements.
  • Restrict or object to processing, and withdraw consent at any time.
  • Lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority.

9. Security

Passwords are hashed, sessions are authenticated server-side, secrets live outside the web root with restricted file permissions, and all admin mutations are written to an audit log. Uploads are type- and size-checked. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, but we apply industry-standard measures and review them regularly.

10. Children

The platform is intended for users aged 18 and above (or the age of digital consent in your country). We do not knowingly collect personal data from children; if you believe a child has provided us data, contact us and we will delete it.

11. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be announced on the platform before they take effect. The "effective date" above always reflects the latest version.
